My Wonderful World

It's been quite a weekend! I've been so tired it's not even funny. I've never slept so much in my life! Add that to my tummy feeling sick off and on, and it adds up to a very exciting weekend. I'm blessed that I haven't thrown up yet.

I'm tired and my back hurts and I really don't wanna go to work this morning. Maybe when they see how pitiful I look they will have pity on me (hmm, interesting grammar there) and send me home.

Thanks everyone for the congratulations. It's nice to know that we've got so many people who are happy for us.

Jon, it's not weird at all coming from you! What I find highly amusing is that you don't even have to ASK if I'm going to have a natural childbirth. You know I'm Mama's daughter through and through!

I've actually started looking into water births. I figure if I'm going to do a natural childbirth anyway, I might as well find out the most comfortable way to do that. It's good to hear that you've had good experiences with water birth, Sis. Rebekah. That's encouraging.

Yesterday I liked Andrew Sterling if it is a boy. He'd be called ANDREW not ANDY. But Brad hates it. Grrr.

I may have to go back to Esmerelda Eleanor if it's a girl....

Just kidding!

You can't have a name that starts with "F" with Riddell...it doesn't flow. Dad has always struggled with the flow of Jeff with Riddell. Nice try though...it had possiblities! Don't be closed minded over names tho...don't say no at first...try them on a few days. She'll change her mind anyway...lol...I know I did! :)

*official* congrats. I already said it to you personally...but making it official in the blog world!
Don't go with Andy...that reminds me of my boss and brother in law..but it IS your kid. So ya know, the choice is really up to you :p! I think puting Sterling in there is cool cus it's Brads middle and its unique. That is why Damon wants my middle name used if we have a daughter (Some day...no big news people) cause he thinks it's cute, and I think it's unique. have fun!

Love the Eleanor. We had a dear friend growing up who's name was Eleanor, we called her Len. She was the most gracious and you would never known her age. She would do the twist with us and the hoola hoop, she would tell us stories about how they used to harvest hay and then throw it up in the barn loose and the best part was how they would play in the loose hay when they thought no one was looking. congratulations Rachel. It will be fun learning of your progress as you post. momma katie

Hey Rach - I think a water birth sounds nice for a natural delivery. Let me just tell you, I was nauseated the first 3-4 months of pregnancy. I was MISERABLE. It was 8 weeks before I actually threw up. I threw up a few times at the beginning of my pregnancy and that was it. Hopefully this will pass soon.

Daddy says the name should be Stainless Sterling (Brad will remember the joke...the kids at school were trying to guess his middle name and the hint was it had to do with spoons or something and one girl said "Stainless!"

now you know how I felt, Rachel..lol...except now I look forward to all that.

You said you were going to avoid an epidural at all costs. That typically means birth au naturale. Sorry, no big mystery there.

Ummm.... We were talking about you tonight. We thought Silver was cute. LOL!! Sterling Silver. Then my Mother said Hi-ho Silver. LOL!! Either way we think it will have a Lullaby Guild voice! :) Maybe you should pick a name from the Wizard of Oz. HEY! Oz Sterling. Ruby Sterling. ToTo!!!! LOL!!!! I really should be sleeping. My brain is probably only making sense to me. :P

I'm still awake! I wanted to come back and tell you that the sleepiness will last a long while. I took a nap everyday, every pregnancy. It will ease up in your 2nd trimester then return for the last one. I always had trouble sleeping the last few weeks... then you will be up most of the night for the rest of your life!! :P

Are you gonna be able to stay home with the baby? Or are you gonna keep working???

*goin to bed now*

Please...no Silver! Wendy...that was Krissy's name at birth. When they called to tell us about her, they said her name was Silver and I said...like the horse? I couldn't believe it. If her baby had been a girl, that is what she was going to name it. Her foster family had called her "Dodie" and my Dad wanted me to keep that!

Don't worry Rachel, I won't be bossing you around about names, I promise! LOL. Dodie. Right.

Oh, and Fronzel, is DEFINITELY out, hon.

Jon... Oh. I didn't realize the order of the comments... duh. Blame it on my pregnant mind, uh, body. But you still could have guessed it anyway.

Kasey... READ IT AGAIN!!! We'd call him Andrew, NOT ANDY! I can't stand the name Andy, honestly. We're doing Sterling for a middle name if it's a boy not only because it's Brad's middle name, but because (as you may have already gathered from Mom Riddell's comments) it's Brad's dad's middle name also! It's a cool family thing.

Wendy... Oh my goodness! No Silver, No way! And it's okay if it has a Lullaby League voice, just so long as it's a girl! Hmm... I'll consider the names but they made me think of a scary rock dude, a Sawyer Brown song, and a rock group from the 70's. So nah, they probably won't make the cut. :-)

Mom, don't worry, we will steer clear of Silver, Dodie, and Danielle. And thanks for not being bossy. What do you think of Celestial Starlight? LOL

Erika, I'm hoping this passes soon too! A girl at work didn't get morning sickness until AFTER the first trimester...Sigh.

DUH! I DID READ IT RACHEL! I know you don't want it shortened, but I was saying you KNOW people will shorten it to Andy if you name him Andrew (if it IS a him). You can fuss and fuss and fuss but people will slip and shorten it! So naaaaaaaah *sticking tongue out* Geesh, I can't win for losin

Anonymous said...

People will shorten it! I did NOT want Caetie called Caetie. I said Caetlynn or Caet. No Caetie. Well.... we all know how that turned out. *rolling eyes*

If I had another girl I was gonna name her Andee. :)

Well, how was I to know what you meant, Kasey? I can't read your mind ya know. :-)

People WON'T shorten it if you are persistent in reminding them. I know. My sister Rebekah and my brother Matthew were NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER to be called Matt and Becky. It was always Matthew and Bekah. No one EVER called them that more than once (but Matthew's nickname ended up being "Bubba"... oh yes, that's much more sophisticated than Matt!)

Now that they are in school, some of their friends call them Matt & Becky, and they are ok with that. But at home they are always Matthew and Bekah.

Wendy, I kinda like Andi with an "i" but it makes me think of Andi McDowell and then I'd have to sing the I Love Pie song to her, which would make me always think of that heathen movie.

I need to just make a new post instead of commenting and commenting on this one but I'm tired and I'm going to take a nap.
